How to Download TikTok Videos on iPhone, PC & Mac

Which method fits your task?

Downloading a video file is different from installing the TikTok app, adding a post to Favorites or requesting an account-data export. Start with the individual post when you want a playable copy.

How to download TikTok videos on iPhone

Save from the TikTok app

1. Open TikTok and play the video you want to keep.
2. Tap the Share arrow to open the sharing options.
3. Choose Save video if it appears.
4. Let saving finish, then open Photos and check your recently saved items.

If iOS asks for access needed to save the file, review the permission prompt. If saving previously failed because you declined access, check TikTok’s permissions in iPhone Settings. Menu labels depend on your iOS version.

Not every post offers Save video. The creator’s download settings and the post’s availability can affect the menu. TikTok documents these controls in its video downloads help.

If you are starting from a copied link

Use Share → Copy link to get the post’s URL. You can paste it into the ttokviewer TikTok video viewer to open the available public post and its download workflow without installing a desktop app.

Files downloaded through Safari may appear in Files rather than Photos. Open Safari’s download list to locate the item, then inspect the Downloads folder in Files. Your download location can be on the device or in iCloud Drive, depending on your settings.

To put a compatible video from Files into Photos, open its share menu and look for Save Video. A ZIP archive must be extracted first; the archive itself will not appear as a playable clip in Photos.

How to download TikTok videos on a Windows PC

You can start in your existing browser. You do not need to install TikTok for Windows merely to try saving a downloadable post.

1. Open the video’s TikTok link in Edge, Chrome or your preferred browser.
2. Check the post for a download control. For eligible posts, the reviewed desktop guide describes right-clicking the player and choosing Download video.
3. If asked, choose a folder and confirm the filename.
4. Wait for the browser to report completion. Open its Downloads list and use Show in folder, or the equivalent action, to locate the file.

The player menu can vary. A right-click may open a browser menu instead of TikTok’s menu, and some posts do not expose a downloadable file. Do not assume the Download video option exists on every page.

For an available public post, you can also paste the link into ttokviewer and open the post’s download control. If a direct media link opens as a playing video, use the browser’s visible save or download option if one is provided. Opening a player alone does not mean a file has been saved.

On Windows, the default folder is often Downloads, but the browser’s completed-download entry is a better guide if you use a custom location. Check that the downloaded video opens and plays before treating it as a successful backup.

How to download TikTok videos on Mac

The browser workflow is similar on a MacBook, iMac or Mac mini. The main difference is how you open the player menu and find the resulting file.

1. Open the TikTok post in Safari, Chrome or another browser.
2. Look for a download control. If using the player’s context menu, right-click, use a two-finger click on a configured trackpad, or Control-click.
3. Choose Download video if the post offers it, and accept the save location if prompted.
4. Check the browser’s download list, then reveal the completed file in Finder.

Safari commonly saves downloads to the Downloads folder, but you may have selected another location. A saved file will not necessarily be imported into the Mac Photos library automatically.

Move a saved video from Mac to iPhone

For a compatible video you already have on your Mac, AirDrop is a convenient transfer option. You can also use iCloud Drive or another file-transfer method you already use. Confirm the file arrived on your iPhone; a browser download on the Mac does not automatically create a copy in iPhone Photos.

How to download multiple TikTok videos from a profile

Saving clips one by one can be slow when you want several works from the same public creator. ttokviewer’s bulk TikTok video downloader starts from a handle or profile URL and collects available videos for a selected quantity.

You do not have to scroll through every video card first. The collection flow can request additional pages itself. It starts from the most recent available works and follows what the source returns, rather than guaranteeing a complete archive of every upload.

The current batch flow skips photo posts and limits ZIP downloads to 150 MB. Start with a small quantity for a large library. Keep the page open while it works, especially on iPhone, where switching apps or locking the screen can interrupt a long browser task.

Why won’t a TikTok video download?

A public page and a downloadable media file are not the same thing. A video can remain visible in a player while its direct download link is expired, blocked or unavailable to your browser. Repeatedly pressing Download will not necessarily resolve that.

If a creator has disabled downloads, do not treat another service as a guaranteed workaround. For your own work, the original camera or editing-project file is often the best source. For someone else’s work, ask for a downloadable copy when needed.

What about watermarks and video quality?

Videos saved through TikTok’s standard download option commonly include its watermark. A browser tool may receive a different media version, but neither this guide nor ttokviewer promises a watermark-free file for every post.

A downloader also cannot restore detail that is absent from the available source. An MP4 file is a container format, not a promise of 1080p, 4K or original upload quality. Open the saved clip to check its picture, audio and duration.

If you are backing up your own content for editing, keep the original export alongside any downloaded copy. Saving a file does not itself grant permission to repost someone else’s work; use the creator’s permission and the applicable platform rules for your intended use.
